    § SERVICES / THE TWIN

    TH4RN316QXMX1FDRU25KQNMP

The structure, rebuilt in three dimensions.

A photograph flattens a building into one point of view. The Twin doesn't. We fly the structure in overlapping orbits at multiple altitudes and gimbal angles, then rebuild it as measurable geometry — a textured mesh and a dense point cloud you can spin, section, and pull real dimensions from.

Get the height of a parapet without a lift. Hand your architect existing conditions instead of a tape measure and a Saturday. Put a model of the finished building on your project page that a buyer can actually rotate. Same aircraft, same afternoon, entirely different deliverable.

    HOW WE CAPTURE IT

    • Nadir grid pass at 80% front / 70% side overlap establishing the base geometry
    • Two crosshatch oblique passes flown perpendicular to each other at approximately 45° gimbal
    • Orbital passes around the structure at two to three altitudes, gimbal staged low, mid, and high, to resolve vertical faces
    • Close detail orbits on complex geometry — cornices, steeples, mechanical equipment, ornament
    • Hover-and-shoot capture rather than continuous motion on detail passes, to keep imagery sharp
    • Consistent lighting window; overcast or high-sun midday preferred over long shadow

    [ IMPORTANT NOTICE ]

A model is built from what the camera can see. Surfaces that are matte, textured, and well lit reconstruct cleanly. Some things do not:

Glass, polished metal, and standing water reflect rather than hold texture, and reconstruct as noise or holes. Thin elements — railings, antennas, power lines, chain link, gutters, downspouts — are frequently lost or rendered as fragments. Large uniform surfaces with no visible texture, such as flat unmarked pavement or a blank white wall, can produce soft or warped geometry. Deep shadow and dense vegetation obscure whatever sits underneath. Anything the aircraft cannot see is not in the model: undersides of overhangs, interiors, enclosed courtyards, and any face blocked by an adjacent structure or tree.

Standard Twin models are scaled and positioned from onboard GNSS. Relative dimensions within the model are reliable. Absolute position is approximate. If the model needs to hold real-world coordinates or certified dimension, add ground-controlled capture, and note that Above Grade is not a licensed land surveying firm — see The Ground Truth for how that work is structured.
